Unsearchable

"The unsearchable riches of Christ" (Ephesians 3:8)

My Master has riches beyond the count of arithmetic, the measure of reason, or the eloquence of words. His riches are unsearchable! You may look, study, and ponder with monumental thought, but Jesus is a Savior greater than you can ever imagine.

My Lord is more ready to pardon than you are to sin, more able to forgive than you are to transgress. My Master is more willing to supply your needs than you are to confess them.

My Master has riches of happiness to bestow on you now. He can make you lie down I n green pastures: He can lead you beside still waters (Psalm 23:2). There is no music like His music, when He is the Shepherd you are the sheep lying at His feet. There is no love like His: neither heaven nor earth can match it....

Christians should expect trials to come; James does not say "if" but "when." (James 1:2) What is God's purpose in trials? It is the perfection of Christian character in His children. He wants His children to be mature, and maturity is developed only in the laboratory of life.  Trials can produce patience, which means "endurance"; and the endurance in turn leads the believer into deeper maturity in Christ. God put young Joseph through thirteen years of testing that He might make a king out of him. Peter spent three years in the school of testing to be changed from sand to rock!"

Our Need to Pray

     "Prayer often avails where everything else fails...By prayer, the bitterest enemies of the gospel have become its most valiant defenders, the most wicked, the truest sons of God, and the most contemptible women the purest saints.  Oh, the power of prayer to reach down, where hope itself seems vain, and lift men and women up into fellowship with and likeness to God!  It is simply wonderful!  How little we appreciate this marvelous weapon!

     The history of the Church has always been full of grave difficulties to overcome.  The devil hates the Church and seeks in every way to block its progress; by false doctrine, by division, and by inward corruption of life.  But, by prayer, a clear way can be made through everything.  Prayer will root out heresy, smooth out misunderstanding, sweep away jealousies and animosities, obliterate immoralities, and bring in the full tide of God's reviving grace.  In the darkest hour... believing men and women have met together and cried to God, and the answer has come."
